Last Post

Go to fullsize imageGo to fullsize image Well this is the last post of the semester!! I am so happy that I took this class and was able to read all these great books, and poems. I really enjoyed the Great Gatsby. I have read many books in my life, and I think that everyone I have read, I have enjoyed.  Reading is a great way to pass the time and to enrich your life. Any reading that you are able to do is good. I will always read, and with all the poems and stories I have read this semester, I cant wait to get some more stories from the authors in the book.  My favorite book is To Kill A Mockingbird and I will always keep a copy with me.

Boo Radley

To Kill a Mockingbird is my favorite book. This is such a great story about life and how you discover that things are not at all what they seem. Jem and Scout are great characters. They are so full of life. When I read the story about Going to see a Man, it made me think of how that black man was found guilty for raping a white women, when clearly as the story is told, you know that it was her father that done that to her.  This town is so caught up in being scared of black people, that they can't even see that it's the white folk that are destroying themselves.

street car

Go to fullsize image  I was so excited to read this play. This was very interesting and so easy to follow. I think there are so many women out in the world that have the same views as Blanche :) She was an interesting character. I felt so sorry for her. She lived in her own world and was just overwhelmed by her sisters way of life. I am going to rent this movie and watch it. I cant wait to put faces to the names. It will feel so much more alive.

busy....

As I read the assignments this week, I realized how personal these readings are. The women have such a personal touch to each story they tell. You can really find yourself in the characters. Its easy to understand how they feel and what thier lives are like.  I am excited keep reading and to dive right into to The Red Badge of Courage.

On another note,  I have been so busy with my son and his basketball games!! Logan is a junior and I have come to realize that it's time to start getting together all his stuff for his SENIOR year.  I am not ready for this.  :)
